Glossary: Conductor Resistance
**Conductor Resistance** is the electrical resistance of a wire material per unit length, governed by copper/aluminum resistivity, AWG wire sizes, and temperature coefficients.
Wire Resistance Sizing
Resistance causes voltage drops and heat generation. Standard copper resistance at 75°C is 1.93 ohms/1,000 ft for #12 AWG, and 7.41 ohms/km for metric 2.5 mm² wire.
