Glossary: Concrete Slump
**Concrete Slump** is a measurement of the workability, flowability, and wet consistency of fresh concrete, determined by the slump cone test prior to structural slab casting.
Concrete Workability Ratings
Slump values range from 1 to 8 inches. A high slump indicates wet concrete that flows easily but carries lower final compressive strengths. Standard structural slabs use a 3 to 4-inch slump baseline.
